Located near the main parking lots are Wildlife Prairie State Park's two gift shops. Each shop carries different and unique merchandise and are a MUST to visit while at the Park.

VISITOR CENTER GIFT SHOP
The VISITOR CENTER GIFT SHOP is located just past the reception desk in the Visitor Center, the hub of the Park. The Shop carries merchandise related to the Park's animals and plants plus many popular gift items.

The Children's Department carries a large selection of stuffed animals, educational toys, puzzles, games and fun toys in a large price range. The Children's area also offers a huge selection of rocks complete with cards describing them. Umbrellas & ponchos for children are also in this shops for rainy days or just gifts.

A wide selection of books is available covering nature and animal related subjects. They range from hard cover well written books with beautiful color pictures, to paperback Peterson Guides, State of Illinois publications, and Zoo Books for children. Animal note cards in many designs are in the Gift Shop along with greeting cards, book marks, pens, and other paper products.

Stylish pins, necklaces, & earrings (both clip and pierced), and ankle bracelets are in stock in the jewelry area for adults. The latest fads in children and teen styles such as rings, toe rings, and animal necklaces are also attractively displayed in this area.

Many fine figurines of animals in all sizes, birds, flowers and many other nature related subjects are to be found in porcelain, cold cast resin, wood, glass, and other mediums Included is a wide range of art work, some by Illinois artisans. Some of the more popular are hand carved morel mushroom walking sticks for hunters along with other morel merchandise.

Gifts for teachers, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, weddings, birthdays, Christmas, and any other special occasions, are in stock at all times. There are also shelves set aside offering inexpensive (under $5) gift and souvenir items along with merchandise in a higher range.

PRAIRIE COUNTRY STORE
The PRAIRIE COUNTRY STORE is located across the circle drive. The outside is a log cabin, with a rustic interior that has been expanded recently giving the shop a large area to display its' excellent selection of Country and Park related items.

Old fashioned candy sticks as well as a huge variety of unusual candies all reasonably priced are to be found in this rustic setting. For gifts and personal consumption are jams and jellies, honey (made by bees in the Park), specialty condiments, salad dressings and many other edible items are attractively displayed. Cold water is also available for the warm summer days.

In the Book area of this shop are located many books for children including a large collection of Dover books, Thrift Classics, Activity Books. Other books on the subjects of Native Americans, animals, wildflowers, leaves, flowers and many natural subjects are also in stock. Tapes and CDs are included in this department.

Clothing is located in the Country Store in the form of T-Shirts, sweatshirts, caps, and socks styled in a variety of animal, bird, and plant prints. Many colors and sizes for both children and adults are available.

Most items are souvenir pieces imprinted with Wildlife Prairie State Park.

Children have a huge selection of toys, craft kits, plush animals, hand puppets, and fun and challenging items to chose from. All of these are displayed in the Country Store theme that makes shopping fun. All items are reasonably priced.

Gift and Art selections include animal figures, birdhouses, feeders, and kits to make them. Pottery, tin boxes, linen towels, throw rugs, tote bags, mugs, country candles, and hand painted gourds are artistically arranged in the center area of the shop. Unusual kitchen gadgets are also in stock to add to the country atmosphere. Souvenir items in a wide variety are also found in this area.

COUNTRY is the key word in this shop. Take a visit to yesteryear and give yourself and your children a view into our American history.
